Garden Under Snow

The garden holds way
too much February.
It has a snowskin
that ought to melt right
off the bones
of that clunky month

but doesn't. Gray
sombreros of rose cones,
I-died-green weed stems.
Sun should be hard
at work, but it's only just
turning on. Under

white, perennials plan
a revolution
they're sure to win
for a while.
