Changes

It's been a hectic two weeks. Ann and I completed our move from the country to the city. Actually two moves. One to put our stuff in storage for July and the second to move from storage to our house in U-City. All in all, the move went smoothly.

Then I made a dash to the east coast to see my parents. Along the way, whenever I came to a fork in the interstate--for example one road to Chatanooga and the other to Wilmington--I kept thinking of the consequences if I chose Chatanooga. That would be an adventure! A change in plans. A different map. But parents were waiting in Wilmington and they'd be worried stiff if I hadn't arrived as planned. Maybe another time to Chatanooga.

Broadband with Yahoo! Sucks

Some DSL service providers know how to gunk up a good thing. SBC, for instance, combines its otherwise good broadband service with Yahoo! You have to install, I think, all of the overwhelming Yahoo! stuff, the browser for instance, with the broadband software. Maybe there's a way to deactivate the Yahoo! baggage. All I want is just a broadband connection. Let me dress it up the way I want.

Poetry on the Top of the Hutch

Moving in the middle of a St. Louis summer is a killer task. But everything is now in the U-City house, and the disarray won't last much longer, hopefully. A bright spot is the computer is back up, and I just places a variety of poetry books on the top of the hutch. A miscellaney of chapbooks, several issues of 2RV, and a couple of Robert Creeley books. It's remarkable how little things like that can make you feel at home.
