September 2003 Archives
A friend from graduate school visited over the weekend. We had a great time talking about Commerce, Texas, and sitting on the back porch talking about poetry. James is devoted to cowboy poetry, and he had a great one of his own.
We talked about blogging. What's the best software. He leans toward Grey Matter. I prefer MT. We also talked about the use of a blog on a poetry site such as 2River. Some poetry blogs are just that: spaces for personal poetry. Other poetry blogs have commentary about poetry, but I've yet to find a really good one.
We talked about how this blog could develop into a space where various voices could talk about the contemporary landscape of poetry, whatever that means, a space where those voices could speak without egoism or ideology but for the sake of poetry.
And so on.
