JeFF Stumpo The 2River View, 9.4 (Summer 2005)
decrescendo Listen

My words are fragile and kept
in what used to be my wife's
jewelry box in what used to be
our bedroom. Sometimes
when a friend visits, memories
cling to the words as I grab
a handful, dropping in the hall
like pearls on that Sunday
morning, rolling to hidden places
in what used to be our home.
