Through An Open Door The Sight Of A Ticket

Through an open door the sight of a ticket
on top of a dresser in front of a window
a woman staring out into darkness with
hands clasped in front of her this person
who knows that she can no longer stay but
does not know what awaits her in the place
where she is going and yet she is about to go
through with this thing she started when she
loosened her moorings and pushed off from
shore a woman with her hands folded
looking at rain streaking the windowpane
about to leave a life that has fallen apart
