Drifters at Sea

Rough waters give new meaning
to the word drifter.
Fishermen disappear
then reappear
in boats they can't control.
They glide in and out of coves,
from behind dead trees
standing naked in the lake,
under piers and out.
How can they catch fish
in angry waves?

No vagrants here.
Nothing homeless about these men
enjoying the sport
of venturing out to sea.
